ACTIVITIES

Therapeutic activities are framed within Behaviorist Model, also called the learning perspective. It is a psyhological model based on the proposition that all things which organisms do such as actting, thinking and feeling can and should be regarded as behaviors. It assumes that most of our behavior, specially social skills is learned and depend on the context in which ocurr. Furthermore, successful or less adaptative behavior share or are learned throught the the same learning principles. Under this perspective, following therapeutic activities will be develop:

Therapeutic group sessions

ASERTIVITY AND SOCIAL SKILLS

Our therapeutic groups focus on giving our participants support and helping them to develop new coping skills to enhance quality of life. Include positive methods for preventing, containing, and resolving conflicts. Topics include alternatives for responding to tension, methods for defusing angry situations, and ways to enhance coping skills.

SELF-STEEM PROGRAMME

A psychotherapy group's goal is to encourage participants to examine themselves and their interpersonal relationships. A group therapy team approach can help us to change dysfunctional behaviours as they occur within a safe place. We can work with other group members to develop a stronger sense of self.

Therapeutic individual sessions

From the fist day, so we can work on the most relevant therapeutic goals according to the result of our initial evaluation.

Surf:

Sport is an important part of the International Surf Camp ICC. Surf is a key element in our Camp. We take all practicable safety precautions - for example, participants are always supervised by, at least, one teacher. We provide all equipment needed. [A Certificate of Attendance is sent at the end of the Course.]

Meditation

It allows you to deep in yourself, leave apart past and future to focus in real present time. Throught our trainning participants will be iniciated and guided in this practice as way to reach enlightened state seek by budist monks. Meditation is literally an open-ended process of pondering, a free-wheeling contemplation. Unlike relaxation, meditation involves no destination: meditation is like shooting an arrow blind, without a target, with aimlessness being the only aim. As such, without even aspiring to, the meditation breathes with relaxation...

Relaxation

Relaxation is a learned technique which improves and becomes easier with regular practice. There are a number of different relaxation techniques, such as Progressive Relaxation, which is a form of psychotherapy used for treating anxiety disorders, in which skeletal muscles throughout the body, often beginning with the feet and legs and working upwards, are first tensed and then deeply relaxed.

Relaxation will help you to think better and enjoy improved concentration, feel calmer, happier and more energetic, experience less discomfort, improve your body’s efficiency by decreasing heart rate, blood pressure, breathing rate and muscle tension, enjoy more restful sleep and increase your feeling of control of your environment. In addition, relaxation has no side effects and feels good.

Social Activities

We try to create a relaxed and friendly ‘family’ atmosphere in which young people will feel ‘at home’ quickly and make good social contacts. At times throughout the Surf Camp ICC there will be is a variety of non-sporting and therapeutic activities on the programme: games, talent contests, etc. The programme is a full one. There is always something to do and participants are encouraged to participate.
